Peer-To-Peer Car Sharing in Victoria BC

by host on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 10:49 AM

What customers need to know about peer-to-peer car sharing services

Peer-to-peer car sharing services are promoted by companies that use their websites to connect vehicle owners with individuals interested in renting a car for a short-term. Companies that provide the online platform for peer-to-peer car sharing do not own the vehicles being rented. In some areas, the service includes insurance but this is not the case in B.C. In B.C., vehicle owners are responsible for having their own vehicles appropriately insured.

Who is responsible for insuring a vehicle used for a peer-to-peer sharing program?

THE WEATHER IS CHANGING

by host on Friday, July 04, 2014 10:16 AM

Climate change is an important environmental issue that has been attributed to human activities, including the release of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases, as well as natural processes.

Climate change is partially responsible for the rising frequency and severity of extreme weather events such as floods, storms and droughts since warmer temperatures tend to produce more violent weather patterns.

As a result of climate change, extreme weather events involving hail, wind and precipitation that used to happen every 40 years in Canada are now happening every 6 years in some regions. (IBC)

What is Insurance?

by host on Monday, February 14, 2011 8:19 AM
Insurance is a mechanism for spreading risk, for sharing the
losses of the few among the many. It allows the policyholder
to substitute a small, defined expenditure (the premium) for a
large, but uncertain, future loss. Policyholders who escape
losses help to compensate those who are directly and
adversely affected by loss.
